The Big Book, as it has come to be known as, is the basic text of Alcoholics Anonymous. The book, first published in 1939, has remained largely unchanged and contains within it the program of recovery as outlined in the first 164 pages. The back of the book contains stories from those who have recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body.
