Statement from The Token Shop

Hi my name is Dustin and I am an Alcoholic,

As a person in long term recovery, it is important for me to say that from time to time, I need to hear those words escape my lips and let them remind me of my primary purpose as well as where my foundation lies. We are in the grip of a Global Health Crisis, the likes of which we have never seen in my lifetime. I have very little personal experience to draw from. The closest I can come, was day 17 of my sober journey when the images on the small Black and White television, in the nurses's station, at the rehab facility I was in, began to show images of plane's striking the World Trade Centers. That was the day the planes stopped flying. We were filled with fear, suddenly a world of uncertainty opened up before us. One thing was clear, time would come to be measured by this event, either before or after.

I said all of that to say this, as a member of the recovery community, I understand the delicate relationship between fear, and faith. The balance which holds my life together and allows me to be productive in the time of need. As a recovery community I have watched, over the last week, our friends and neighbors pul together to overcome obstacles, I have seen an unmatched level of honesty and vulnerability. I have seen you cry, and laugh. I have seen you crippled with exhaustion and carry on. I see you, each of you, and I want you to know, I am proud of you. I have seen our traditions tested, and witnessed the miracle of recovery in the group conscious.

We are facing an uncertain future. As a company we are devoted to helping our recovery community in any way we can. We continue to look for opportunities to be of service, to use our reach to be an informational hub for those seeking resources. We have a Continuity of Business plan in place which will allow us to function for as long as we are allowed by law. It may, however, become necessary for the health and safety of our team that we suspend those operations for a period of time. Should that be the case we will updated all of our public facing communication; our website, emails, social platforms, and newsletters to reflect these changes.

"As we felt new power flow in, as we enjoyed peace of mind, as we discovered we could face life successfully, as we became conscious of His presence, we began to lose our fear of today, tomorrow or the hereafter. We were reborn"
