1. Michigan Rib Fest

When in Detroit during the 4th of July weekend, you won't want to miss the Michigan Rib Fest! If you're a BBQ lover, then this is the perfect event for you. Not too big of a rib eater?

That's still not a problem as there's so much more to the Michigan Rib Fest other than a few ribs! When attending this fest, you can expect to witness a few pig races, take part in a  monster truck ride, listen to live music, watch car shows, and so much more! The dates for this event are July 1st-July 4th.

There will even be a fireworks show on the first night of the festival.

2. Clawson 4th of July Festival

Another great festival to plan for is the Clawson 4th of July Festival. The first day of the festival will be July 3rd and will start off with a midway with rides and games and an arts and crafts fair.

For the most fun-filled activities, be sure to visit this festival on July 4th when there will be tons to do, including the Independence parade, the Memorial Pancake Breakfast, fireworks, and more!

3. Detroit Institute of Arts

If you have a love for art, then be sure to stop by the Detroit Institue of Arts. The Detroit Institue of Arts has over 100 fantastic art galleries to explore. It's known as one of the world's largest art collections because of this.

With that being said, this place will have enough art to keep any art lover busy for hours! One of the most popular pieces is the sprawling mural, which was created by Diego Rivera.

4. The Creature Conservancy

Would you rather spend your day gazing at animal exhibits rather than art ones? If you're an animal lover, then you'll want to plan a day for The Creature Conservancy. This animal viewing center is much more than a typical zoo.

Here, you'll learn about the conservation of various wildlife species. Don't be surprised if you happen to make friends with a few porcupines or sloths either!
